Setup Your SK8MOD Controller

Follow these simple steps to get started.

Step 1: Download the App

Start by downloading the SK8MOD App on your phone.

Step 2: Connect Your Skate Controller

Place your phone on the base. The app will guide you for the next steps

Step 3: Choose Your System

Download the SK8MOD PC App

1. Installation

  • When the app starts, Windows might ask for permission to allow access on your local network. Choose “Allow access” — this lets your phone and PC communicate with each other over Wi-Fi.

2. Driver

  • The app will automatically install the ViGEmBus driver, which allows your PC to recognize the Skate Controller as a gamepad.

Your SK8MOD Controller connects through Xbox Remote Play, this lets you control your console over your local Wi-Fi network.

To get started, open the SK8MOD App and sign in with your Microsoft account when prompted — this links your console automatically. Make sure your Xbox and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

💡 If connection fails:

  • Try using the official Xbox App to test your Remote Play setup first.
  • If that doesn’t connect, check your Xbox settings and enable: Remote Features → Enable Remote Play
  • Once your Xbox app connects successfully, your SK8MOD Controller will work too.

Your SK8MOD Controller connects through PlayStation Remote Play, this lets you control your console over your local Wi-Fi network.

To get started, open the SK8MOD App and sign in with your PlayStation Network account when prompted — this links your console automatically. Make sure your PlayStation and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

💡 If connection fails:

  • Try using the official PS Remote Play App to test your Remote Play setup first.
  • Make sure these settings are enabled on your PlayStation: Settings → Remote Play → Enable Remote Play
  • Once it connects with the official app, the SK8MOD Controller will connect too.

Step 4: Launch Your Game

Open your favorite supported skate game and start riding with your SK8MOD Controller!

FAQ / Troubleshooting

The controller isn’t responding correctly

  1. Make sure the controller is mounted properly and calibrated in the app.
  2. Restart the app and make sure you’ve selected the correct system and game in the app.
  3. Recalibrate the controller if needed
  4. Avoid placing the controller very close to magnets or electronic devices that might affect its sensors.

Xbox / PlayStation connection fails

  • Test Remote Play with the official Xbox or PlayStation app first.
  • Make sure Remote Play is enabled on your console:

Xbox: Remote Features → Enable Remote Play
PS: Settings → Remote Play → Enable Remote Play
Ensure console and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Can I use the controller offline?

No, for Xbox and PlayStation the controller requires Remote Play, so your console and phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. For PC, the app work via Wi-Fi, a network connection is required to link the phone app and the PC software.
